After calling the Philadelphia suburban area home for much of his young life, Stephen A. Schwarzman went to high school in the School District of Abington. He graduated from Abington Senior High School; and, pushing on from there, obtained his bachelor’s degree from Yale University in 1969. He took on a master’s degree in business at the internationally renowned Harvard Business school near Boston, MA. Then Steve commenced his career at Lehman Brothers investment bank, based in New York. By his thirty second birthday he was already a managing director.

Steve doesn’t just give of his time to a wide range of not for profit organizations, but additionally he has also been a part-time professor at Yale. He is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in NYC. Furthermore, Steve only last spring gifted to the New York Public Library $100,000,000 to sponsor their recent construction project. In fact they called one of their new buildings after him.

It is not surprising that Steve Schwarzman has become part of America’s elite — last year he was described as one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People on the planet in acknowledgement of his many achievements.
